It is officially Day 7 of our tour, and we have been blessed so greatly as we’ve had the opportunity to share in churches, youth groups and high schools.

Sunday we had a great time connecting with so many people at church of all ages. It was a pretty full day as we shared in 2 morning services, had a quick lunch and returned to set up for a full show that night. After sharing our favorite cereals while introducing ourselves at our show tonight, 'our host Dad – Uncle Jim' proceeded to surprise us with all our favorite cereals lined up waiting for us when we got home! This simple act of kindness moved us to tears! We proceeded to have a bonding evening with Uncle Jim and debriefed with each of our own favorite cereals! God you are so good!

Jonah shared about Monday so I’ll move on to Tuesday. Tuesday was an official day off, but there was no sleeping in to be heard of. Off we went for a day of adventure and exploring the Oregon coast. Though it was cold and rainy, there was no stopping the crazy Canadian crew. We hit up 3 different beaches: Seaside, Cannon and Cape Kiwanda (Adrian’s favorite). We enjoyed seeing Seals be fed at an aquarium, the samples of cheese at the Tillamock Cheese factory, and we all had great adventures as we broke off into different exploring groups hiking. This day was so full of God’s amazing creation and powerful works of his hands. Psalms 104 has definitely look in our mind now!!

Hey this is Ben,
So today (Wednesday) we went to Faith Bible school, which is a Christian high school. We performed “Lost” (prodigal’s son) in front of the school. It was a really sweet school and they were super welcoming and really hospitable. After our show we were just hanging around with a few of the students. Jonah and I were hanging out off to the side when a guy, probably about 18 years old, came up to us and introduced himself. Then he went on to tell us how powerful the show was for him. He told us that he was planning on going home on his spring break and getting high and partying the whole time but after seeing our show he realized that he’s not alone in his journey and now he is not going to party when he goes home. Jonah and I were pumped for him but before we could say much he gave us both big hugs with tears in his eyes then walked away. It was pretty cool. But yeah, then they fed us we packed up and came back to Jimmy’s. In about 20 minutes we are going to go set up for our show tonight. We are doing “want more” and tons of kids from the high schools are going to be there. It will be exciting to see what happens.

Words from the Bboy!

http://www.refinedundignified.com/march-tour/words-from-the-bboy

http://www.refinedundignified.com/march-tour/words-from-the-bboy#comments

Uncategorized

Aloha's breakerz day Hey this is Jonah Kiseyinewakup, Refined/Undignified's B-boy. I met some b-boys (break dancers) at one of our performances, it was fun breaking, and talking with them, since I'm the only bboy on the hip hop dance team, it is always an awesome oppertunity to meet other break dancers when we go to other places. the dancers I met their names were Rona, Vandetta, Michael, and Justin. Rona is a very talented B-boy, he's been breaking for 5 years, and also a freshman, he told me had an older brother that was a bboy that he learned from, and I can see how he got very good at such at an young. Vandetta was in training in bboying, I could tell that Rona was teaching him. Vandetta was very welcoming to us R/U dancers, it was an interesting experience to just break with them, and exchange tips on learning certain break moves. Rona was teaching me a power move that is really difficult to learn called "Flare", the flare is also used in the gymnastics, so it is a acrobatic move, through his teaching, I was able to get better at it, pointing out the stuff that i was doing wrong.
I have really enjoyed this experience, it was such an awesome fun day for me, and hope the light of Christ shined through me towards the B-boys I met.

MARCH TOUR

http://www.refinedundignified.com/march-tour/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit1

http://www.refinedundignified.com/march-tour/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit1#comments

Uncategorized

Saturday, March 6, 2010 Did someone say Oregon?Whoo! Here we are! I am sitting in the kitchen of a hospitable Jim, in Hillsboro, just outside of Portland, Oregon. The grass is green, the sky is blue, the trees are pink (blossoms?), the clouds are few and the mountains are plenty. Praise the Lord! We just got back from a church service called Solid Rock, in downtown Portland - an amazing time of fellowship with American believers! Cool! And to backtrack...

We left Caronport on Thursday afternoon, and arrived in Lethbridge, AB in time to perform our show "LOST" at Park Meadows Baptist - Jesse's home church! We got to hang out with a bunch of kids after, and that was really sweet. One girl was teaching me how to breakdance, which was pretty cool - and it's humbling when highschoolers show you up with their moves. Hah. We were all very blessed by a delicious home cooked meal (yeah Gerri!) and an overnight at the church. The next day we drove all the way to Coeur d'Alene to perform for a youth group that night. And we got to meet some of Adrian's family! Brittish grandparents, and Auntie Jilly and cousin Katie. (They let us use their showers! = BLESSING!) It was great to see Adrian all giddy around his family...hehe.

And after lots more driving, here we are in Oregon :) I can confidently say that I have never been more amazed and overwhelmed (in the best sense) at God's creation. I've seen mountains for the first time, we've driven past thousands of trees (rare in Saskatchewan), lakes (also rare), and on the way here Adrian took us to a waterfall! Has anyone seen Lion King 2? Upendi? Yeah. That's what it was like. Honestly though, our God is incredible. I feel like all day today He was just whispering, "Hey, look how big I am..."

He's also blessed us with Jim (previously mentioned) who has GRACIOUSLY offered us his house for the week. It's so nice that we all get to stay together. Joel, Dan, Adam, Ang.... wish you guys were here too.

Tomorrow morning we are performing 3 dances for Adrian's home church...who has never seen him dance! This is exciting for all of us. Please pray that our passion for dance and his passion for the team would be clearly presented, along with the gospel message. Some of our dances don't really make sense without the narration, but then again, some of them really do. So there you go.

Thanks for your prayers and support! We will do our best to keep this blog updated (hopefully) daily. If all goes as planned, you will hear from our B-Boy Jonah tomorrow...

Lovin' the outdoors that my Daddy made,
Alli
