RU Blogging?
Hey Everyone!
Welcome to our new Refined/Undignified web site!
I'd like to start by thanking all of you who have followed our blogs while we were in London and over the past 6 years. Our team is once again made up of a new group of people who God has brought together to serve Him through dance. Robin (who was in charge of blogging last year) has gone back home to Nova Scotia (*sniff *sniff), so I (Caralee) will be taking over for her.
Some of you may already be aware that Refined/Undignified has expanded from one to three teams. It's made up of a college team, and high school team, and a full time team (which is working along side, building relationships as well as instructing dances with the high school and college teams).
Back in August, the full time team began our boot camp on the 24th to be ready for the freshmen. Over a 5 day period, we learned the "Want More" show to perform as a kick off for this year. The following week, we had 3 auditions for both high school and Briercrest students, and were amazed at the 30 high schoolers, and the 50+ college students who showed up (not to mention the amount who came to our kick off... thanks to every one who came out :) ! ).
We have been blessed with different buildings and rooms to practice in so far, and have even been lent an official practice room for the next year. One concern was that it was carpeted and had no mirrors (which can be a little difficult when learning dances). But as we asked God to provide for us, we've seen Him answer in huge ways... first with people donating money for either wood floors or mirrors, then with someone donating the full 400 square feet of flooring needed!
Over the next 3 weeks, R/U will be assisting in Youth Quake launches through out Saskatchewan and Alberta. And tomorrow, we head out to Lethbridge where we will be working with the E-Free Alliance Church for a youth conference that is going on this weekend.
Please pray for:
Those who will be attending the shows this weekend in Lethbridge, and that God will be preparing their hearts to hear what He wants them to hear.
That God will prepare us to minister.
Strength and health for team members.
Balancing schedules for team members.
Support raising for full time team.
Wisdom & discernment as leadership proceeds to oversee the expansion and development of 3 teams.
Safety while traveling.
