I AM LIBERTY
THE CREATION PROCESS
In November of 2013, we believe God put it on the hearts of our leaders to begin working towards creating a show addressing the issue of human trafficking. We felt called to research the topic well-reading books, researching online, watching videos, attending conferences. We also felt called to share real stories so we began seeking out people to talk to personally who had been through experiences involving the industry. We had the privilege of interviewing 5 incredible women, 3 of whom know Jesus Christ at different levels. In September 2014 we knew we wanted to pursue creating this show by the end of the school year. We began looking more closely at storyline, music, and concept, feeling that the Lord was calling us to share someone’s story even though we didn’t know who she was. In January we joined our two college teams and began full-fledged choreographing and creating in preparation for the debut release in March 2015. In creating this show the Lord has brought so much vision, details, and miracles all into alignment with His perfect timing-in more ways than we can describe!
Our desire in this show is three-fold: Raise Awareness - of this issue and its reality within North America Spark Hope - Christ is victorious, even in the lives of these victims. Inspire Action - What is our role in this fight for freedom? If you are interested in learning more about the process of creating I Am Liberty, and our research sources, you can read the full I Am Liberty Faith Journey here.

I Am Liberty: The Story and the Purpose
I am Liberty is an intense and personal portrayal of a young girl finding herself in a romantic relationship with a man who turns out to be a trafficking recruiter, throwing her into a world of darkness and chaos. Our story goes through the emotional, psychologically manipulative, and overall destructive situations of being abused, sold, and valued as worthless by so many. As freedom slowly becomes a distant dream for Liberty, hope is inspired in unexpected ways.
Our desire through this performance is to raise awareness in Canada of this significant issue. We want to help North Americans understand this is not just an “overseas problem” but it is actually right in our own backyard. We desire to warn youth and vulnerable persons of the realities of trafficking, inspire hope in anyone we can reach that may be stuck in this in some way, and see a significant difference made in our world today. We want to see men, women, and children set free, and we want to invite others to join us in the fight for freedom. Together we can change the world.

Commercial sexual exploitation includes: pornography, strip clubs, escorts, massage parlors and prostitution. All involve the selling of sexual services which undermine the dignity of women, men and children and are detrimental to a healthy society.
